Harold P. Lapham, 90 obituary

Harold P. Lapham, 90 | The Forecaster: "FREEPORT — Harold P. Lapham, 90, died Oct. 2 at Skolfield House.

On March 30, 1919, he was born in Brunswick, the son of Herbert and Angie Allen Lapham.

In 1936 he graduated from Brunswick High School.

On June 14, 1940, he married Margaret E. Slate.

Before joining the Navy in 1945, he was employed at Bath Iron Works. After he returned from serving in the war, he worked for a variety of different employers, eventually returning to Bath Iron Works to work as a pipe fitter until his retirement in 1984.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the First Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Margaret of Brunswick; four children, James H. Lapham and his wife Sandra of Freeport, Elizabeth Scott and her husband John of Richard, Texas, Elaine Reed and her husband William of Chester, N.J., and Kathleen Arel of Northfield, N.H.; a sister, Dorothy Lachance of Fort Mojave, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
